Difference SE / EE

Sven W.Aug 18 2011 — edited Aug 19 2011
Are you aware of any interesting SQL or PL/SQL features used by developers and/or admins that are available in the Enterprise Edition but not in the standard edition?

I came accross statements that claimed function based indexes are not in standard edition. Same goes for bitmap indexes (which is a lesser problem). But I could't find it in the documention.

Are there any other features that you are aware of?

I know that some flashback options are missing (flashback database), but a basic flashback query will still work.

Background story:

A client of mine is considering to use a Oracle Standard Edition as his test database and the Enterprise Edition for production. He claims the only EE feature needed is grid control.

At first I had extreme doubts about such major differences between Test and Production. But when thinking about it it might make sense for certain projects.
