difference between schyncrinize and post

Hi ,

Please excuse my ignorance , but i want you to answer this question in simple words with an example cuz i read it in different places and cant understand it:

What is the difference between synchronize; and post; in oracle forms 10g , in a form i use a button to delete a record , the record is deleted and everything except that it is still shown on the screen , i want to add a "refresh" like command after the delete statement that would remove the record deleted right away....would any of the synchronize and post do that job?
