Difference between REDO.log, flash_recovery and undo tablespace

JimmyNewbieOct 30 2008 — edited Oct 31 2008
Hello,

Could Somebody explain me the exactly difference between :

1) REDO01.LOG, REDO02.LOG, REDO03.LOG,
2) Archive logs (*.ARC) in flash_recovery_area directory
3) UNDO tablespace

If I want to do a flashback for a specific table, does I use the UNDO tablespace, redo*.log files or the flash_recovery_area directory?

If I write 400,000 records in the table TOTO. My flash_recovery_area inflates and my undo tablespace inflates too

I'm not sure the way that Oracle takes for a flash back and a recovery.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jimmy
