Difference between MRP & LSP

Hi,

I understood that MRP & LSP both will apply logs to stand by database either from Stand by redo logs or archived redo logs.

I want to know what is the significant of these 2 (MRP & LSP) .

Are they same or any difference? I tried to search in Google. I did not get any significant difference. Just I can see both are used to apply the redo logs.
