Difference between flashback and rman restore/recover

Hi all,

Are there difference between flashback restore/recover database until time and restore/recover until time by rman ???

I'm asking because my customer need one point in time recover. I suggest to use flashback, but the application team would prefer to restore with rman because of unspecified differences...... I do not think, but I prefer to ask here.....
