Difference between Datafile and Tempfile
Dear Friends,
I want to know the difference between datafiles and tempfiles. I know their objective in Oracle DB like using temfiles for temperory tablespaces. Moreover, tempfile does not take up all space initially rather grow incrementally. Datafile takes all space specified initially and can be incremented upto to certain limit or can be unlimited. Correct me if i am wrong?
Are their anyother basic differences between tempfiles and datafiles even considering it at OS level with(out) involving Oracle database.
