Deterministic Function and Performance gain. What is the reality behind?

ramarunDec 15 2010 — edited Dec 15 2010
Hello Pros,

What is that we can really gain by using deterministic function. I have seen few threads and good examples by askthom. After reading those examples i feel deterministic functions are rarely being used and the benefits are overlooked. Is my thoughts right? Requst the pro's to discuss on how this deterministic function is being used or how better this can be used in correct places to leverage performance.

Here is the link i had referred to and taken few examples out of it.

Thanks in advance
