My payroll department reached out to me to ask if there is a way to determine if any employees had been taxed on pro-card reimbursements that we process through payroll. They somehow found an employee who had received a reimbursement in one of their paychecks and it was taxed when it shouldn't be because it's a reimbursement of money the employee paid out themselves while on business for the College.
I've looked at the PS_PAY_EARNINGS table for anyone who had that earnings code (ERT) to see what the value of the TAX_METHOD field was set to and for all entries it was set to ‘A’ (annualized). The earnings code itself has “Paysheet Specified” set on the earnings table.
I checked my paycheck for the last pay period I received a reimbursement and the taxes were the same as the next pay check where I didn't have a reimbursement so I wasn't taxed on those earnings, just my regular pay.
So is there a way to determine if someone was taxed on this earnings code?
Thank you!
