Detecting Strings LtoR or RtoL

Hi All

I have a String that may or may not be in Arabic or some other Right to Left language. I do not what this string will be at compile time.

I need a reliable way of detecting if this string is Left to Right or Right to Left at run time so i can change my layout to suit.

Anyone have any ideas or sample code?
