Details on version difference between upstream and downstream databases

340688May 2 2007 — edited May 2 2007
I have been trying to find specific information on exactly what the limitations are for the differences in versions of the upstream and downstream database. According to the 10g online documentation, the upstream database must be at an equal or lower version (ie, can upgrade the downstream, or destination, hot). Can Streams handle a minor version difference if the upstream is patched (10.2.0.2 => 10.2.0.3), or one-off patches and bug fixes? I am thinking the limiting factor is whether or not the data dictionary changes, but more explicit information would be appreciated.

TIA
