Desperate need of help! Consuming web services w/ Apex or Jquery

srbonham1Dec 13 2011 — edited Dec 14 2011
I have a free Weather webservice that uses SOAP to communicate back and forth. I set this web service up directly with apex and got it to work the way I want it. What I am using this for is to validate the zip code on a form after the user submits. I made a process that runs after submit that fills a hidden field with the response from the server (boolean) The validation basically says "if p2_statusbox = "true" then fail validation. Maybe not the best way of doing it but I am a beginner!

What I am trying to do now is call the same exact web service when the user blurs from the zip code textbox. I have been trying to consume this thing using jquery but it always gives me an error ( jquery fail message )

Can anyone provide me with direction on what to do to implement this?

The webservice is located here:
http://wsf.cdyne.com/WeatherWS/Weather.asmx/GetCityForecastByZIP <----Passes in ?zip=*ZIPCODE*

WSDL
http://wsf.cdyne.com/WeatherWS/Weather.asmx?WSDL

API
http://wsf.cdyne.com/WeatherWS/Weather.asmx?op=GetCityForecastByZIP

Thanks in advance!!!!
