Desktop Integration - Error:The common language runtime could not be loaded

Sameer.DarbhaMay 5 2011 — edited Jun 23 2011
Hi

JDeveloper 11.1.1.3

I did Desktop Integration for Excel in our ADF application.
I installed the ADFDI client on my machine, created an .xlsx file for our application, published it.

It is working when I tested from my system. (WLS and Excel)

But when the excel is downloaded from another system (WLS running on my system), and they try to open it, they are getting the following error.

"The common language runtime could not be loaded by AA.xlsx. Contact your administrator for further assistance."

1. Does the clients have to install anything on the client system to use this excel ?
2. Or are there any options to be set in their Excel ?
3. Can we add the Desktop Integration capabilities to a normal Excel file (.xls) ?
I mean if the excel is not created by copying the 'adfdi-client.xlsx' file, and we still want to add ADFDI capabilities to this existing .xls file ? Is it possible ?
It may not be practically easy to copy the content of the existing .xls file to the ADFDI .xlsx file, since there are lot of formulae and formatting in a number of worksheets.

Thanks for any help.
Regards
Sameer
