Dell Poweredge 2800 Solaris?

807557Apr 1 2005 — edited Jun 26 2006
Hi,

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2800 server. It has three 73Gig SCSI diska and three 146 Gig SCSI disks.

This system comes with LSI 53c1030 controllers. The drives are hot plug and the dell backplane has a device that appears on the SCSI bus PE/PV 1 x8 SCSI bp.

This machine hangs in configuring devices Solaris 10 GA.

In solaris 9 it sort of works with the Driver from LSI but the I/O rate is limited to 8 Megabytes/ Second (if your lucky, normally running at 1 meg/second). The file systems on the diska have been corrupted three times in 1 day. The messages file has a repeated error message
ID 3658 kern.info <Default cyl 8921 alt 2 hd 255 sec 63>

The verify disks in the controller bios takes around 100 minutes for the 73 gig scsi and says its complete at 86%!

Has anybody got any idea how to get this box working?

Please Help!
