Deleting one or some items from recycle bin

Hi
After a period of time working on repository , I end up with too many objects in recycle bin . When I try to delete them all (the Empty Recycle Bin menu) , it takes too long time and the database server hangs at the end. When I restart the server , I see all the objects in recycle bin and non of them has been deleted. I wonder if there is a way to delete one or some of the objects and NOT all of them at once.
