Deleting Archive Files after successul Backup w/ Veritas BackupExec 9.1

626287Mar 3 2008 — edited Mar 6 2008
Dear all,

we're running an Oracle v10.0.2 database on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 server. Online backup via Veritas Backup Exec v9.1 Oracle Agent is successfully done on a regular basis.

The oracle SID is ORCL, log files are stored in "D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA".

Unfortunately log files are no being automatically deleted after an online backup has been successfully performed. Therefore the log files increase to an undesirable size and require constant maintenance.

Is it possible to automatically delete log files that aren't required anymore after the backup has been performed successfully? How do I configure such an automatic log file maintenance schedule w/ Veritas Backup Exec or Oracle Enteprise Manager?

Any help would be greate appreciated as I don't have any Oracle expertise :-(

Regards
Alex
