Deleted Files: nmz.exe and nmesrvc.exe

857869Apr 26 2011 — edited Apr 27 2011
The server administrator for my client thinks an anti-virus software quarantined or deleted the following files at the respective locations:
E:\oracle\product\111~1.0\db_1\ccr\bin\nmz.exe
E:\Oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\bin\nmesrvc.exe

During reboot, apparently there are a couple services that look for these files to start up. I am not a guru on Oracle, but did the installation on this server a year ago (used in a GIS application).

My question is: what purpose do these files serve and are they required for normal Oracle operations? If so, what would be the best way for me to restore these files? They are not contained in any system backup and thus cannot be restored via that route.

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Brad
