delete contents of temp tablespace

Hi,

I have oracle 10.2.0 running on Linux.

I have this "temp" tablespace bloated to around 33 GB.
I want to do a cold backup for this weekend.
Can i go ahead and drop the temp tablespace and re-create the temp tablespace so i dont need to back up the whole database including the "temp" tablespace.

what is the best solution for this.
right now all the transactions are commited and i think i wont be needing the temp tablespace contents at all.

Can someone guide me on this please.
