Delayed allocation on ext4 - any risks?

bertold.kolicsMay 10 2012 — edited May 10 2012
Is there any increased potential for data loss with EXT4 filesystem on Linux when using the filesystem with the noauto_da_alloc option (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4#Delayed_allocation_and_potential_data_loss) . My understanding that Berkeley DB Java edition does not rename database log files as it is described in the referenced article. I understand the different durability options available. My question is whether Berkeley DB would behave - and potentially cause data loss - on EXT4 than on EXT3 with the same durability settings? Thank you.
