DEFAULT & UNLIMITED terms in profile

Friends ,

In oracle database , profile uses two terms . one is 'DEFAULT' and another is
'UNLIMITED' . My question is , In the DEFAULT value , which values are set by oracle and
in the case of UNLIMITED , which values are set by oracle .
