dedicated or shared

hello all,

i am quite confuse regarding either to request shared server or dedicated server from client......

configuration:
OS: windows 2003 server
database: oracle 10.2.0.1
concurrent connections: 70-80
SGA: 1.5G

all the connections are made from remote location connected with RF connectivity. earlier we used to request dedicated connection from client, but recently we had network crash and when it is up w found that server is not allowing more than 30 connection...all dedicated..how come this??

then we set shared_server=2 and dispatchers=3 then request shared connection through client by removing SERVER=DEDICATED from tnsnames.ora file (i think it is the way to request shared server from client!!!!)

when i check select machine, server from v$session it do not show shared but NONE....means it is request shared server... please correct me if i am wrong....

but after making shred server mode we are getting complaints that our application are running slow which is obvious....

as it is OLTP transaction what connection type should we go for???? dedicated or shared???

any suggestion will be appreciable

thanks and regards
VD
