DDE.Request

Respected All,
I am reading data from Excel Sheet into Forms 6. using follwing command.

/* DDE.Request(ConvID, 'R29C2', :EMPNAM, DDE.CF_TEXT,1000); */

"Text" data (Empnam here) is read but when i try to read "Number" Data(EmpNo),an Error is generated.

I think I have to change 4th paramenter(DDE.CF_TEXT),But don't know with which to change it.

secondly,whatever data i read,two newline signs(short square like symobls)
are picked in text field of form.
Please help.
