DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE doesn't work in Toad ?

I USED the following in the POST-INSERT db trigger in Toad as :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(' V_COUNT' || V_COUNT );
should i activate something..?
