dbconsole question

So, here goes:
On Windows Server 2003, I have noticed that when the dbconsole service is running, that there are literally thousands of service start/stop entries in the event log. All of them have to do with the "WMI Performance Adapter service"...
I'm a bit new to using dbconsole, so I'm wondering if this normal behavior? After stopping and starting the service all day today, I am 99.99% sure these event log entries are coming from dbconsole.
Is there something I can do to dbconsole to make it stop doing this so much?
