DBCA is giving errors on a new oracle install

User_H95GNMay 19 2015 — edited May 20 2015

Oracle DB: 11.2.0.1.0

Platform: Oracle Linux 6.6, 32 bit, x86

Test/learning box.

I have successfully installed Oracle DB on my Linux test machine. I chose not to create the DB at the time of installation.  Now I am using DBCA to create the first DB. I keep getting the following errors during the creation of the new database.

1-  ORA-09925 : Unable to create Audit Trail File

2-  ORA- 01017: Invalid user name password. Login denied

3- ORA-01031: Insufficient privileges

I am logged in as Oracle user with root authority.  Please advice. Please let me know if you need additional info.

Thanks for your help.
