Oracle Database Discussions

hello ppl
sorry! i didnt know where to post this question. But i really need help in deciding what career path to choose. i just passed the first exam intro to sql & now i have a choice in choosing the right learning path.
Im very much interested & excited about becoming a DBA, but it seems junior DBAs are totally discarded in this economy. While newbie Oracle developers still stand a chance (compared to Jr DBAs). I have no experience in Database & actually am new to the US MARKET. And so i need expertise in some field.
Please help me out of this dilemma.
