DB wrong character set following control file re-creation. How to correct it ?

Chris Ortiz - Deemak ConsultingNov 2 2017 — edited Nov 22 2017

Hi,

One of our DB which is encoded in UTF8, the control file has been recreated by mistake with character set AL32UTF8.

I've tried to use the DMU on this database and scan it and i can see some errors generated since the control file recreation. some new data is now detected as "With Invalid Representation" error with character set AL32UTF8.

I want now to correct it convert all the database in AL32UTF8 but it seems it's not possible with DMU. I can scan it but the tool doesn't propose conversion in the menu which seems to me normal as the DB is now declared as AL32UTF8.

Do you have an idea how i can do it ?

Could i recreate again the control file with UTF8 character set then convert all DB in AL32UTF8 ?

Thanks for you help

Christophe
