DB version vs. Server Version

I have 2 servers in our Grid Env.

Target A: Server version = 10.2.0.3.0 and DB version = 10.2.0.3.0

Target B: Server version = 10.2.0.1.0 and DB version = 10.2.0.3.0

We are getting ready to start setting up cloning and replication scripts for backup and fail over. Will it make a difference if the Server version is different since the db's are the same.

Also, just in case, what patch would we apply to u/g the server to 10.2.0.3.0
