DB MAX_STRING_SIZE=Extended and FORMS_EXTENDED_STRING=1 with Forms 12.2.1.3

Mike,

we had this discussion by E_MAIL on year ago. The only other thread I found was MAX_STRING_SIZE varchar2 greater than 4000 bytes

Now one of my customer wants to switch the developer and production databases (12.2.x) from MAX_STRING_SIZE=Standard(4k) to Extended (32k).

We installed the DB Bundle Patch (which includes Patch 27516009) and the LOV Patch (Patch 27362657).

From my understanding the only issue left then is BUG 25597028 "CREATE_GROUP_FROM_QUERY" / FRM-41076. Correct? And the limitation one line in record_group < 64k.
We can deal with this issue. Would you recommand to do the db switch or are there additional issues we have to keep in mind?

Oracle EBS seems not to support this parameter: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=458002306535437&id=2142799.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-…

Would you recommend the use of this Parameter together with this patches?

Frank
