DB 12c: Password Life Time set to unlimited but System's password expired ?

hi all,

SQL> select banner from v$version;

BANNER

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64bit Production

PL/SQL Release 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

CORE    12.1.0.2.0      Production

TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

NLSRTL Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

I have set PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME to UNLIMITED for profile DEFAULT through user SYS as below: ( set it after installation of Oracle Database 12c on a new machine at work )

alter profile DEFAULT limit password_life_time UNLIMITED;

but today, after around 10 days when trying to login with user system it is showing as below:

SQL> conn system/ora123@mylocal

ERROR:

ORA-28001: the password has expired

Changing password for system

New password:

Retype new password:

ERROR:

ORA-65040: operation not allowed from within a pluggable database

Password unchanged

Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

SQL>

please help to resolve the issue.
