DAYOF MONTH OF previous month

Hi,

I have prompt where i have dates like below

3/31/2012
4/30/2012
when i clcik 4/30/2012,i need previous month dayof month ,so result should be 31

when i give like this TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, -30, DATE '@{pvdate}')...................i get previous full date 3/31/2012
when i give like this DAYOFMONTH(DATE '@{pvdate}').................................................i get current dayof month 30

how to get previous dayof month ?
