Date Conversion Error

Hi,

There are many invalid dates in my oracle source. So I am doing a TO_CHAR(DATE_FIELD,'MM-DD-YYYY') DATE_FIELD in my Sql.

Actaully, I have problem with the TO_CHAR function that I use in Oracle. For example when I do a To Char on ‘01-JAN-01’, it is pulling up as 00-00-0000.
TO_CHAR(DATE_FIELD,'MM-DD-YYYY')’ = 00-00-0000

Can anyone of you please help me with the valid function.
