Date Calculation

Hi All

I hope everyone is keeping well,

Please could i get some assistance with a date calculation as i cant figure it out.

So lets say i have an effective date of 01/04/1990 and the current date is 07/04/2016

i would then need to roll the effective date to 01/04/2017 is there a way for me to do this in SQL Developer?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as i have been stuck on this for a while now.
