Datapump Vs Exp/Imp

Hi all;

Some questions  from datapump  Vs  Traditioanl exp/imp.

Even we have performace parameters in export and import ( buffer , direct , recordlength )

1)  Why datapump is much faster than export and import ?  Any specific reason or internal process ?

Is this exact answer ?


Someone told me  ' datapump is using  API's like  'DBMS_DATAPUMP', 'DBMS_METADATA'  - so this is the main reason  for datapump is working fast.
