Hello everyone, hope everything is fine.
I have the following scenario: RAC (with 2 nodes) + Single physical standby DataGuard instance, everything running on Oracle 11.2.0.3.0.
Recently, I've configured statspack to get snapshots from the dataguard instance, so I can study what can be done to improve performance there. Those are the first five wait events in the sb report:
Wait Events DB/Inst: ARSDBSTB/ARSDBSTB Snaps: 76-100
-> s - second, cs - centisecond, ms - millisecond, us - microsecond
-> %Timeouts: value of 0 indicates value was < .5%. Value of null is truly 0
-> Only events with Total Wait Time (s) >= .001 are shown
-> ordered by Total Wait Time desc, Waits desc (idle events last)
Avg
%Time Total Wait wait
Event Waits -outs Time (s) (ms)
---------------------------------------- ------------ ------ ---------- ------
MRP wait on archivelog arrival 84,095 100 84,098 1000
checkpoint completed 5,568 58 20,252 3637
db file scattered read 12,760,407 0 19,491 2
db file sequential read 16,455,033 0 17,091 1
db file parallel read 89,947 0 13,899 155
I've searched Google / MOS for info on the first event, but I haven't managed to find anything satisfactory yet. Is this an "Idle" wait event? (the wait class is "Other" according to V$SESSION_WAIT, but maybe that's incorrect).
If this is not an Idle event, do you guys have any tips about what can be done to reduce this wait time?
Thanks!
