DataDirect .NET provider

Has anyone got any experience with the Datadirect .NET data provider for oracle ?

I notice that it does not require OCI but communicates directly over TCP/IP with oracle. Presumably this will increase performance?

Which is better oracle ODP.NET or Datadirect provider.
