Database size auto incremented ?

I have installed Oracle 11g in server 2008.I have created Database also.
My query is
Now we are having very less number of records.Future it may attain 10thousand record(including blob data type) also.
1.Database size is by default auto incremented ? or we need to do some configuration while creating the database?
2 It is totally depends on physical memory size of the hardware?
