Database move from one data center to other

rag100mnFeb 17 2009 — edited Feb 17 2009
Please help me on this below scenario.

Customer wants to move system A to remote location, i.e datacentre migration to different location, but with very minimal downtime, because 'A' is live and productive and downtime only during cutover time(4 hours)

Please note our database version is 9.2.0.6 on solaris 10.

Our plan is

1. We will get shared server for production, its mirrored copy of production and it is a consistent copy
2. Transfer backup to remote location by using rcp
3. Restore on target, lets say system B and start the system B(system B having same OS,filesystem...)
4)Test the system B for 2 days
4. Apply archive logs to system 'B'(to sync) which were generated in last 2 days on system 'A' and stop system 'A' and go live with system 'B'.

Please suggest me is this option going to work?,if its work what is best method to go with point number 4.

Please share your thoughts with me and help me.

Regards,
Ragh
