database disk is full!
285833Apr 23 2009 — edited Jul 4 2009I was stupid and let my database disk fill up (df -k shows 99%). I've logged on using sqlplus /nolog as a admin user and am trying to delete some records from a large table, but the query is runnign extremely long - to the point where I think it's locked up. I tried connect / as sysdba, but received the insufficient privileges error, I guess because of the disk space. The good news is that the datafiles are on a storage array and we can add another lun to the link. My question is, how can I safely shutdown the database so I can reboot the server so it will see the added lun?
Here's what I have running:
SUN Solaris 8
Oracle 9.2
EMC storage array
