database connection issue through toad

HI,
I am able to connect to my server through sqlplus installed in my pc but when i tried connecting through toad
it throws tns could not resolve service name

when i Do tnsping thorugh dos prompt it works fine and when I do the same through toad it throws the follwing
error

TNS Ping Utility for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.1.0 - Production on 16-JUL-2009 03:23:07

Used parameter files:

TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name

can any one please help on this
