Database Character set Conversion

Neil EmeryAug 9 2017 — edited Sep 2 2017

Hi,

We currently have a 12c r1 database (full version details below) that has an NLS_CHARACTERSET set to WE8ISO8859P1

We have a new requirement to store and use Welsh language information which the current character set does not support

I think that we will be able to run the

Database Migration Assistant for Unicode

script to convert the database to AL32UTF8 without any problems, since our current character set will not contain any multi byte characters

The Welsh translation information will be held in new tables and possibly columns on existing tables

We will also need to change the NLS information on our 12c Oracle Forms and Reports servers

Am I correct in this assumption?

Thanks,

Neil
