Data will be inserted above or below HWM if free blocks exists below HWM?

Hi All,

After reading several docs its sure that HWM(high water mark) for a table rises as data is being inserted.

But when we delete the data, HWM will still be there unless we truncate/shrink or rebuilt the object.

But my question is , Suppose there are free blocks under the HWM (after deletion of the data) and if we insert the new data;

then newly inserted data will get inserted above the HWM or below the HWM where there are free blocks already exists?

Do we have any documents where its mentioned?

Thanks,

Pranay Kamble.
