Data warehouse?

Hi All,
I am not sure I should be asking this question in the SQL and PL/SQL forum
but I get such excellent feedback from the posters in this particular forum. :)
My questions are:

What is a data warehouse?

What is a physical plan/design?

What is a logical plan/design?

Is there anything else I should before saying I know about
data warehouses?

Where can a find out more?

Any good book?
