Data Replication and Applicatrion failover software in Oracle Vm

804314Oct 10 2010 — edited Oct 11 2010
Dear All,

Hope someone might have come across with a right Application failover and data replication Software between two sites (in Oracle Virtual Environment) with the capability of Byte-level synchronous/asynchronous replication: Please suggest me.

Primary Site (PS):
4 HP Blade Servers are used in Primary Site(PS) with Oracle Virtual Machine(OVM) Server (2.2.0) using SAN Storage. OCFS2 clustering is used for HA (High Availability). Various OVM sessions are created. OVM Manager is installed on a HP DL360 Server to manage the OVM's. HP Management Server is installed on HP DL180 Server.

DR Site:
2 HP Blade Servers are installed in the DR site OVS (2.2.0) using differnt SAN storage. OCFS2 clustering enabled for HA.
OVM Manager is installed on a HP DL360 Server to manage the OVM's. HP Management Server is installed on HP DL180 Server.

SAN storage:
- A 10GB virtual disk was allocated for each blade for booting the OVM Server OS
- A 200GB virtual disk was allocated in each site for Oracle VM repository
- Another 200 GB virtual disk was configured on each site for uni-directional replication of the OVS repository from the other site (this virtual disk is seen as a RO disk)
- A 2 TB virtual disk was allocated in each site for shared disks and user data
- Another 2 TB virtual disk was configured on each site for uni-directional replication of the user data from the other site (this virtual disk is seen as a RO disk)

Software Versions Used:
Oracle VM 2.2.0
Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 Update 4
Oracle Database 11gR2 11.2.0.1.0
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.5.0
Oracle Secure Backup 10.3.0.1.0

Thank you
