Data Protector "Cannot Open Exchanger control device' Error

I am new to Data Protector...I am using Data Protector A.05.50 with MSL6000 LTO-Ultrium drives...and Win Server 2k3 R2 based HP DL380 server controlling the tape library...
Everything worked fine...till I installed Microsoft Services for Unix (for NFS services)
Ever since the data protector is giving the error:
'Cannot open Exchanger Control Device'
I have un-installed the SFU (services for unix) but no luck...
Once i try to relocate the tape drives...in the 'devices and media' context; the data drive scsi address is showing as ' Tape0:0:0:1C '
