data model not importing tab columns

I'm trying to import a data model from the data dictionary into the data modeller. The import succeeds without any error, but it does not import any column information, just the tables with its constraints. (version 4.1.1.19) In SQL developer directly I can lookup the design of the tables. Can anybody tell me the exact prereqs for the import?

(Windows 7 Enterprise, 32-bit, Oracle 11gR2)
