Data Guard Transport lag

user11188564Oct 30 2010 — edited Oct 30 2010
We have configured active dataguard with one Physical standby. The latency between the active and standby is 150 msecs. At peak traffic rate (redo generation of 3 Mbytes/sec) we see the transport lag go upto a minute - This happens when the redo log file switches. The lag does not come down after that - i.e. stays consistently up at the 1 minute level. The hit rate for the log buffer drops to below 50 % - the size of the log buffer is set at 16 M bytes. The active and standby are are on a LAN (100 Mbits - the delay is introduced by a WAN emulator). The size of the redo log file is 1 Gbytes - takes about 3 minutes to switch.

Any clues as to how we can address this issue ?
