Data Guard in 10g?

hi experts,

We have a 9i db that we will upgrade to 10g.

The 9i db uses Data Guard. Is Data Guard commonly used in 10g instances ? Or does 10g have a replication feauture that might be better than Data Guard.

One disadvantage of using Data Guard is that it is only available in the Enterprise edition I think.
