Data classification framework causing errors in OPM rule documents

Monique CAug 20 2025 — edited Aug 20 2025

Hi there

Our organisation recently implemented a mandatory data classification framework for cybersecurity purposes. Every Word and Excel document now needs to have a classification added (e.g. Personal, Sensitive, Restricted…).

This framework is being automatically enforced within Word and Excel (you're unable to edit documents until a classification has been chosen from the drop-down menu.

When this happens for the first time in a document, the OIA users need to click their way through about 25 error messages (each relating to a failure for a button in the Policy Modeling ribbon).

e.g. “Failed for FluentRibbon.ActionConclusion”

Does anyone have any experience at working around this/getting it to stop?
