We are doing a feasibility study for an interesting project that involves consolidating and reporting on a rolling 17-week cash flow forecast. This forecast is by day (so each forecast covers 17 weeks times 5 days/week), and is collected and consolidated on a weekly basis. The consolidated data may be reported on a weekly or fiscal period (monthly) basis.

The cash flow forecasts are collected by entity (~100 or so), and are fully developed (e.g., no drivers, just the final amounts by account for that entity) in their local currency. The calculation requirements are pretty simple: consolidation/IC eliminations and currency conversion.

Have any of you experts seen or worked with an HFM application whose data and reporting requirements did not follow months as the granularity of the data? If you have, did you change the # Periods to 52/365 to make each week or day a "period", or did you leave fiscal periods intact and utilize one of the custom dimensions to handle the daily or weekly data breakdown?
