Current Month and Previous Month (Year Change)

I'm trying to create a report that has two columns. Current Month and Previous Month. But when it is January 2017, how do I get the next column to show December 2016?

I tried to look this up, and some posts mentioned conditional suppression, but I don't know exactly how to make that work.
